The final step here is to submit our brand new show to iTunes/Apple Podcasts. This is a one-time-only task, you don't need to do this again when you publish new episodes. They'll update in iTunes and every other directory automatically when you publish them in Buzzsprout.
You need to have at least one published episode in your feed to be approved/listed here. If you just upload a short clip of you saying "testing, testing... is this thing on?", it'll get rejected. Instead, think about creating an Episode Zero.
Speaking of other directories too, you'll also want to be listed in Google Podcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher. As iTunes is by far the biggest podcast consumption platform in the world though, that's what we're focusing on here. Being in there automatically puts you into countless other podcast listening apps too.
You'll need an active Apple account to submit your podcast. There's a direct link inside Buzzsprout that'll send you to the Apple Podcasts Connect submission portal.
- In Buzzsprout, click the iTunes & Directories tab
- Click Submit to Apple Podcasts
- Check you're happy with all the details/info
- Click Submit
- You'll hear back from Apple about your submission between 1-5 working days
