Managing your Intro & Outro Music

Learn how to set default intro and outro music, how you can cut the length and how to change it.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Setting a default intro and outro to use in each episode can save you time in your podcast workflow. Especially If you have created an intro & outro that you really like.

Setting your defaults

1. You can manage your default Intro and Outro from Show Settings. Click on the gear in the left navigation to access your 'Show Settings'

2. Select Default Intro & Outro, click Choose your file to set your preferred intro and/or outro. To replace the default, click Change this file; to remove it, click Remove.

3. From the pop-up library, select the audio you want to use as the default and click, 'Select'.

You can use our free music library or upload your own. The Clip Genie lets you create a custom intro/outro by combining a voice clip with background music.

4.. You can repeat this to set the default outro.

5.. From now on, every new episode you create will automatically have this intro and/or outro included for you so you just need to add the main episode audio when creating a new episode.

Amending your default

Equally, if you want to change your default intro or outro on an individual episode then you can do this when in episode builder. Click 'Remove'

A pop up lets you know your default Intro will still be applied to other episodes. Click Remove.

Once you've removed the Intro, click the 'plus' button to add in your new Intro for this episode.

You can repeat these steps with the Outro.

Adjusting the intro/outro length

We have made it easy for you to adjust and set the exact length of your intro/outro. For example, if you want to shorten it.

  1. Press the "length" button

  2. Either type the length you want or use the -/+ key to make your adjustment

Thats it!
